Meet Julie Wolff, Lead Advocate

My name is Julie Wolff and I am the founder of Rooted in Advocacy. Before establishing Rooted in Advocacy, I taught in public, charter, and private school environments.  After stepping away from teaching to focus on raising my family, I discovered that my extensive knowledge of special education and available support systems was crucial in navigating the educational journeys of my four children. Each of them eventually received an IEP or 504 plan due to their unique learning disabilities.

Candidly, being a part of the special education process as a parent was overwhelming and exhausting, even with my background as an educator. As a family, we managed multiple cases simultaneously, each presenting a distinct experience. I remember reading a quote by Dr. Seuss during that time that helped shaped my perspective - "When something bad happens you have three choices.You can either let it define you, let it destroy you, or you can let it strengthen you."  So, once our challenges subsided, I made a commitment to ensure no other family would have to endure what we did. For years, I have dedicated myself to studying and training with experts, continually refining my skills and furthering education to become the most proficient advocate possible for families and students in need.
